HUBUNGAN POLA ASUH ORANG TUA DENGAN KEMANDIRIAN ANAK USIA PRASEKOLAH DI TK SANI ASHILA KEC. LUBUK KILANGAN KOTA PADANG

Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF said the prevalence of preschool age children in the world in 2020 was 29% experiencing physical and psychological delays (WHO, 2020). This study aims to determine the relationship between parenting style and independence of preschool children in TK Sani Ashila Kec. Lubuk Refinery, Padang City in 2021. This type of research is descriptive analytical with a cross sectional study design. This research was conducted in kindergarten. Sani Ashila District. Lubuk Kilangan Padang City from July to December 2021. The population in this study were all parents who had preschool children in TK Sani Ashila Kec. Lubuk Kilangan, Padang City, as many as 96 people, all populations were used as research samples. The sampling technique used in this research is using the total sampling technique. Computerized data processing (SPSS version 2016) using the chi-square test. The results showed that more than half (75%) of the respondents had a level of independence who were not independent and more than half (70.8%) of the respondents had an authoritarian parenting pattern for preschool-aged children. There is a relationship between parenting styles and the independence of preschool-aged children in kindergarten. Sani Ashila, Lubuk Kilangan District, Padang City in 2021 with p-value = 0.002 X² which is 2455, which is greater than X Table, which is -425,667. Through the Principal and Teachers, it is hoped that the results of this study can be used as a guide to determine the level of independence of preschool-aged children through parents by educating parents and further researchers by looking at the relationship between parenting patterns and children's independence.
