The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of classical music therapy on the pain intensity of postoperative closed extremity fracture patients. The type of research is Quasi-Experiment with One Group Pretest-Posttest design at RS.TK.III Dr. Reksodiwiryo Padang. The study population was all postoperative closed extremity fracture patients many as 286 with a sample of 10 respondents. Data was collected by interview using a questionnaire. The data is processed by editing, entry and cleaning steps. Univariate analysis with descriptive statistics and bivariate analysis with paired t-test. The results showed that the average respondent's pain scale before classical music therapy was given was 7, 00 and the average respondent's pain scale after classical music therapy was 2, 10. Shows that there is a difference in the average pain scale is 4, 90. Based on the results of the paired t-test statistical test, it was found that the p-value of 0.000 means that there is an effect of giving classical music on decreasing the pain scale of postoperative closed limb fracture patients. It is hoped that through the head of the hospital is expected that nurses can make the distraction technique of listening to classical music to be able to reduce the pain scale in post operative closed limb fracture patients.
