Abstract

Indonesia ranks third as the country with the highest prevalence of Low Birth Weight (LBW) 11.1%. The results of the initial survey of 10 maternity mothers who were asked as many as 8 people worked outside the home, and 9 mothers gave birth, the number of children born exceeded 4 children. The purpose of this study was to determine the causative factors related to the weight of Low Birth Weight Babies (LBW) in the work area of the Padang Health Center in 2021. This type of research is correlation. The total sampling design of this study was carried out in June - October 2021. The population in this study were all maternity mothers in the Lubuk Buaya Padang Health Center working area totaling 78 people. All populations were used as research subjects. Data collection is done by means of a questionnaire. Data processing by coding. Univariate analysis used descriptive statistics in the form of frequency distribution and Bivariate to test x2 = 0.05. The results of this study showed that most of the incidence of LBW (79.5%), more than half of the incidence of LBW with parity 51.3%) More than half of the incidence of LBW with nutritional status (44.9) And more than half of the incidence of LBW with nutritional activity ( 25,6). Through the leadership of the Lubuk Buaya Health Center, it is hoped that midwives can reduce the incidence of low birth weight (LBW) by improving midwifery services, especially in knowledge of preventing low birth weight babies. For further research, it is hoped that this research can continue by looking at the factors that influence low birth weight.
