PERSEPSI LANSIA TERHADAP VAKSINASI COVID-19 DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS TANAH GARAM KOTA SOLOK

Abstract

COVID-19 continues to spread throughout the world that caused a pandemic. Vaccination is one of the prevention programs performed by Indonesian government to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic, but the achievements have not yet reached the national target. The results of the initial study showed that there were still elderly people who did not know that the elderly also needed to be vaccinated and were afraid and felt they did not need to be vaccinated. The purpose of this study was to assesss perception of COVID-19 vaccination among elderly at Tanah Garam Public Health Center, Solok City This study was a descriptive analysis with cross sectional design. The research was conducted in April 2022 with a population of all elderly people in Kelurahan VI Suku Tanah Garam Health Center, Solok City. 64 elderly people was taken by simple random sampling. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire and analized using univariate and bivariate analysis. The results showed that almost half (45.3%) of the elderly had a poor perception of the COVID-19 vaccination, with details of 48.4% had poor perception in perceived susceptibility aspect, 37.5% had poor perception in perceived severity aspect, 51.6 % had poor perception in perceived benefits aspect and 46.9% had poor perception in perceived barrier aspect. Further analysis found that the perceived aspects of susceptibility, severity and barrier had significant correlations with acceptance of Covid-19 vaccination among the elderly in Tanah Garam Health Center, Solok city. It is recommended that the Health Promotion Programm stakeholder to be more aggressive in health promotion regarding the Covid-19 vaccination.
