PENGARUH TERAPI PIJAT (RAKHMAWATI) TERHADAP KENAIKAN BERAT BADAN BAYI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS KURANJI PADANG

Abstract

Baby massage is an old tradition that was explored again with a touch of health science and scientific review of neonatologists. Massage is an outside therapy that is relied upon in the treatment of various diseases but the benefits of the newborn are unknown. This study aims to determine how the effect of massage therapy (Rakhmawati) on infant weight gain in the Work Area of ​​Kuranji Padang Health Center in 2019. The Quasy Experiment research design was carried out in the Kuranji Public Health Center in Padang from March to August 2019. The population in this study was 20 people with a sample of 10 people taken by purposive sampling. Computerized data processing through univariate analysis stage is descriptive statistics in the form of mean, SD, and bivariate analysis using dependent T-test with 95% confidence stage. The results of the analysis obtained an average baby's weight before and after the massage therapy action in the experimental group was 202 grams and in the control group was 20 grams. The t-test results of the experimental group obtained p-value = 0,000 and in the control group obtained p-value = 0.001, it can be concluded that there is an effect of massage therapy on infant weight gain in the experimental group and there is a baby's weight gain in the control group. Through the Head of the Kuranji Community Health Center it is hoped that it will be considered and considered by the head of the Kuranji Community Health Center to motivate health workers, especially the nursing unit in implementing non-pharmacological measures to increase body weight in infants. For subsequent researchers to be able to continue this research with other variables.
