HUBUNGAN TAHAP KEMOTERAPI DENGAN STATUS GIZI PADA ANAK LEUKEMIA LIMFOBLASTIK AKUT (LLA) DI BANGSAL ANAK RSUP DR. M. DJAMIL PADANG

Abstract

The chemotherapy is a step that must be taken by the children who got the Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and it has effect that one of them is a nutritional disorder. The interview was conducted by researchers to 8 parents of children with ALL who underwent chemotherapy, namely 4 induction stage toddlers, 1 child at the consolidation stage and 3 children at the maintenance stage. The purpose of this study is to know the relation between the chemotherapy and nutritional status for the children who have ALL in children RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang year 2018.The design of this observation is Descriptive Analytic with approach by cross sectional study. The population in this study were ALL children who called 247 people. The sanple is the children who have ALL, they did chemotherapy for 53 people and it was taken with the accidental sampling technical. This observation was doing from March till September 2018. The Instrument of the observation is using questionnair data of children demographic and sheet of observation is in weight, height and chemotherapy for the children. The statistical analysis is using Chis-quare test.The result of the observation shows that most of the children with maintenance/rumatan chemotherapy is (54,7%), with induksi (24,5%) and konsolidasi (20,8%). Almost for the children with normal nutritional status is (47,2%). So there is no such as that meaningful relation  between chemotherapy with nutritional status for the children who have ALL. The result of statistic test (p value=0,001<0,250).Expected that the results of this study can be used as a reference for nurses in the children's ward to maintain nutritional status in children with ALL. In the next researcher to continue research on the nutritional status of children with leukemia by providing interventions or actions that can be done to maintain the nutritional status of children during chemotherapy.
