HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN KEKAMBUHAN PASIEN SKIZOFRENIA DI PUSKESMAS KUMUN KOTA SUNGAI PENUH

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder characterized by a decrease or inability to communicate, a disturbance of reality (hallucinations or comprehension), unnatural or blunt affection, cognitive impairment (unable to think abstractly), and having difficulty doing daily activities. The aim of the study was to describe the relationship between family support and recurrence of schizophrenic patients. This study is an analytical study with Cross Sectional Study, which is a study design that studies the dynamics of correlation and association between independent variables and the dependent variable, namely the Relationship of Family Support to Recurrence of Schizophrenic Patients. The sample size in this study was 76 respondents. Data collection using questionnaires on both variables. The results showed that more than half (53.9%) of schizophrenic patients' families had good family support, and almost half (44.7%) of schizophrenic patients had moderate recurrence. The results of the study found that there was a significant relationship between family support and the recurrence of schizophrenic patients p Value = 0.046 (p <0.05). It is expected that the health center to increase family awareness in providing support and care for schizophrenic patients in the form of conducting counseling on families.
