HUBUNGAN TINGKAT STRESS DENGAN DERAJAT HIPERTENSI PADA LANSIA DI PUSKESMAS KURANJI PADANG

Abstract

Hypertension is a systolic high blood pressure of 140 mmHg and a diastolic of more than 90 mmHg, according to WHO 2017 shows that around 1.13 billion people in the world with hypertension continue to increase every year. hypertension at the Kuranji Padang Public Health Center is in third place at 11,021 people. hypertension is the second leading cause of death after heart disease, where one of the risk factors is stress. Data from the Kuranji Padang Health Center in 2019 found elderly with hypertension with a total of 137 people. Management of hypertension, one of which is blood pressure checking. This study aims to examine the relationship of stress levels with the degree of hypertension in the elderly at Kuranji Padang Health Center in 2019. This type of accidental sampling study with a cross sectional study design was carried out at the Kuranji Community Health Center from March to September 2019. The population in this study were all elderly with hypertension. The number of samples in this study were 39 respondents. research time from Juni to Desember 2019. Retrieval of data for 2 weeks from 14 August to 25 August 2019. The results showed the majority (76.9%) of the elderly category of stress levels, (48.7%) degree of elderly hypertension in the mild category. Obtained (p value 0,000) (<0.05) means that there is a significant relationship between the level of stress and the degree of hypertension in the elderly. For Kuranji Community Health Center staff, it is hoped that this will be an effective input for providing health services to maintain stress levels in the elderly and provide education about hypertension.
