PENGARUH RELAKSASI AUTOGENIK TERHADAP TEKANAN DARAH PADA LANSIA HIPERTENSI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS ANDALAS PADANG
Abstract
Puskesmas Andalas ranks first in the highest incidence of hypertension as many as 14,013 people. The initial survey carried out seven elderly people with hypertension, four of them said that to reduce blood pressure is done by consuming drugs regularly, and three others lowered blood pressure by regulating resting patterns and exercising and said they did not know about autogenic relaxation techniques. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of autogenic relaxation on blood pressure in elderly hypertension in Working area Puskesmas Andalas Padang. This type of research was conducted using Quasi Experiment with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design, this research was conducted in the work area Puskesmas Andalas Padang 2019. The population in this study was 116 elderly with hypertension, with a sample of 10 people in take using Purposive Sampling. Data collection is done by observation. Data is processed by editing, coding, entry, cleaning steps. Univariate data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and bivariate analysis using Paired T-test statistical tests. The results showed that the average before performing autogenic relaxation was 156/94 mmHg with standard deviations of 9,661 (systolic) and 5,164 (diastolic), whereas after autogenic relaxation an average of 141/87 mmHg with standard deviation of 5,676 (systolic) and 4,830 (diastolic). Paired T-test statistical test results obtained P-value .000 means there is an influence of autogenic relaxation on blood pressure in elderly hypertension. It is expected that nurses can provide autogenic relaxation that can reduce blood pressure in elderly hypertension on a regular and ongoing schedule.
