FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN UPAYA PENCEGAHAN HIPOGLIKEMI PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS DI RUMAH SAKIT REKSODIWIRYO PADANG
Abstract
Hyoglycemia is one of acute complications of Diabetes Melitus and is an emergency life threatening condition. Therefor, practice prevention is needed to be conducted by the patients. This research was aimed to explore factors contributed to hypoglycemia prevention practice in Diabetic patients. This was cross sectional study that conducted at Tk. III Reksodiwiryo Padang Hospital, where 52 Type-2 Diabetic patients were participated. Data were collected using questionnaire. Statistic of Chi-Square was used to establish factors associated with hypoglycemia prevention practice. From the total of participants, 34,6 % of participants had poor practice on hypoglycemia prevention, 51,9 % with previous hypoglycemia history, 51,9 % had duration of Diabetes more than three years, 5,8 % were elderly, and 55,8 % had poor knowledge on hypoglyemia prevention. There were no relationships between duration of Diabetes and patients age with hypoglycemia prevention practice but there were relationships between previous hypoglycemia history and knowledge with hypoglycemia prevention practice. It is recommended to provide more health education and information on hypoglycemia and it prevention.
