PENGARUH PENYULUHAN KESEHATAN TERHADAP TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN REMAJA PUTRI TENTANG PEMERIKSAAN PAYUDARA SENDIRI (SADARI) DI SMA ADABIYAH PADANG

Abstract

Breast self-examination (BSE) is an early detection of breast cancer. Data from the Padang City Health Office in 2017 there were 145 women diagnosed with breast cancer. The results of a preliminary study, students at SMA Adabiah Padang did not know about breast self-examination. This study aims to determine the effect of education health towards the level of knowledge of young women about BSE at SMA Adabiah Padang in 2020. This type of research is a Quasi Experiment with Two Group Posttest design, this research was conducted at SMA Adabiah Padang from Januari until mei 2021. The population in this study were 202 young women, with a sample of 32 people taken using proportional sampling. The data is processed by editing, coding, entry, cleaning steps. Univariate data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that most (82.4%) adolescents in the control group had a low level of knowledge, most (86.7%) adolescents in the intervention group had high knowledge. The results of statistical tests (chi square) obtained p-value = 0.000 (p <0.05), indicating that there is an effect of health counseling on the level of knowledge of young women about breast self-examination (BSE) at SMA Adabiah Padang in 2020. Through the principal, it is hoped that Adabiah Padang high school students can increase their knowledge about BSE examination and practice it independently.
