HUBUNGAN PENDIDIKAN DAN MOTIVASI IBU TERHADAP KELENGKAPAN IMUNISASI DASAR PADA BAYI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS ALAI KOTA PADANG

Abstract

Padang City consists of 23 Puskesmas in Padang City, Puskesmas Alai is the 2nd lowest (57.8%) completing basic immunization after Puskesmas Lubuh Buaya. Since the covid-19 pandemic outbreak, mothers' motivation has decreased to immunize their babies to Puskesmas, Clinics, Posyandu and private midwives. The low rate of basic immunization is also influenced by maternal education. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between mother's education and motivation on completeness of basic immunization in infants in the Alai Community Health Center Work Area in 2020.This type of research used descriptive analytic with a cross-sectional study design. This research was conducted in the Alai Public Health Center in Padang City from March to November 2020. The population was 96 and the sample was 44 respondents. The sampling technique was purposive random sampling. Data collection using questionnaire measuring tools, data analysis techniques using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis.The results of the study were that the completeness of basic immunization for incomplete infants was 59.1%, the level of maternal education was low 52.3%, and the mother's motivation was low 61.4%. There was a significant relationship between maternal education level and completeness of basic immunization obtained (p value 0.030), there was a significant relationship between maternal motivation and completeness of basic immunization (p value 0.000).This research is expected to provide information for the head of city and health workers in charge of the KIA unit regarding the relationship of mother to the completeness of basic immunization in infants in order to imporove health education, especially the importance of basic immunization
