HUBUNGAN KONTAK SERUMAH PENDERITA TB DAN STATUS GIZI DENGAN KEJADIAN TB PARU PADA BALITA DIWILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS ANAK AIR KOTA PADANG

Abstract

Tuberculosis incidence in toddlers is the impact or result of exposure to adult TB around toddlers. The development of TB incidence in children under five from year to year has increased WHO data in 2019 there are 14.4 millionadult TB cases and 1.5 million TB cases in toddlers, while in Indonesia in 2019, TB cases in toddlers amounted to 36,650 cases. The city of Padang found 136 cases of TB under five. toddlers who are in contact with adult TB patients and toddlers who have poor nutritional status will be easily infected with TB germs. the difficulty of establishing a TB diagnosis in toddlers has resulted in the handling of TB under five cannot be handled properly. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between household contacts with pulmonary TB patients and nutritional status with the incidence of pulmonary TB in toddlers in the work area of the Air Children Health Center in Padang City in 2021. This type of research is quantitative using a cross sectional design .This study was conducted in July 2021. The population in this study were TB patients who had 45 families of children under five, all of which were sampled. Data collection is done by using a questionnaire. The data is processed by editing, coding, entry and cleaning steps . Univariate data analysis with descriptive statistics and bivariate data analysis with chisquare test . The results showed that more than half (64.4%) of household contacts, more than half (55.6%) of the nutritional status of children under five were very thin, more than half (66.7%) of the incidence of tuberculosis in children under five . There was a significant relationship between household contacts with the incidence of pulmonary TB in children under five (p = 0.00), there was a significant relationship between the nutritional status of children under five and the incidence of TB in children under five (p = 0.00). It is recommended to the Puskesmas to further increase the screening of pulmonary TB suspects in toddlers and adults as early as possible if they have pulmonary TB , conduct counseling about tuberculosis.
