KEPATUHAN PASIEN GAGAL GINJAL KRONIS DENGAN HEMODIALISA TERHADAP PEMBATASAN CAIRAN DI RSI. SITI RAHMAH PADANG

Abstract

World Health Organization estimated that up to 2015 there are 36 million people died from  chronic renal failure around the world. Chronic renal failure patients having  haemodialysis is  needed  to  have fluid restriction intended to prevent hypervolemia and cardiovascular complication.  But fluid restriction often become difficult for the patients to obey. This research was aimed to explore chronic renal failure patients having haemodialysys  adherence to fluid restriction and factors contributed to it. The research was cross sectional study that conducted at Siti Rahmah Islamic Hospital Padang. 35 participants were participated. Data were collected using questionnaire and  from patients medical records, where interdialytic weight gain was used as a marker for measuring adherence. Statistic of Chi-Square was used to establish factors associated with adherence of fluid restriction. The results showed that most of the patients (57.1) did not adhere the fluid restriction, there was a significant  relationship between family supports (p  0.004 ), sex (p  0.001 ),  and occupation (p= 0.009 ) with patients adherence in  fluid restriction.It is recommended for nurse and family to support the patients who having fluid restriction and help the patients in managing the  barrier in adhering fluid restriction.
